Happy Labor Day!

Hi friends! Happy Labor Day πŸ™‚

Yesterday, I soaked up some of what seems to be the last remnants of summer 😦 — actually, who am I kidding with that sad face–everyone knows Autumn is where my heart is! πŸ˜‰

But don’t get mad at me yet πŸ™‚ I loved my SUMMER day at the park yesterday. ❀

I’ve been breaking in my fun newΒ MirinaΒ bag this weekend and really liking it (link at the bottom to shop it with my discount code!)

The romper is Anthro and it’s served me well this summer – so airy and light and I feel the colors are so uniquely paired.

This weekend has been so necessary for me…after another week away for work, this downtime with my hubby and local family was restful.

Walks are my favorite and this trail we discovered at a park just down the road from Mom’s house was the perfect oasis. The breeze was lilting and fresh and the sunshine just bright enough to keep us warm. Loved it!

And today…(ah!) if the forecast predicted accurately, well then this afternoon we’re to expect warm rain and thunderstorms — another of my favorite things! Summer thunderstorms on days off? Perfect setup for matinees, couch cuddles, reading for hours… love!

I hope you enjoy your holiday, friends — thank you for spending this portion of it with me! πŸ™‚

Summery Yellow

I love peaceful evenings with only family on the calendar…it means home and quiet and serenity. Mom was over the other night and after dinner the three of us went on a little adventure through nearby parks.

I linked some similar dresses below for your shopping pleasure πŸ™‚ I love airy sundresses and cute backs are my favorite! But first, let’s just enjoy these beautiful shots I snapped of the nature surrounding us in Ann Arbor.

Hey guys!

Wow – what a busy time it’s been. I’ve missed my little oasis here at Dreaming in Rose Gold!

I wanted to share some recent photos taken while loving life in sunflower land (ha!) – why can’t I live there?! #flowerchildproblems

But do you blame me? Sunflower fields are so full of light — did you know that wild young sunflower buds follow the sun across the sky, absorbing light until they explode into these bright happy faces? Sunshine!

Leo and I found a field in Traverse City and another right in our neighboring city – Dexter. Two different fields, both full of smiles. Same sun shines on both. πŸ™‚

Traverse City:

I’m in love. ❀

(Psalms 34:5) They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.

(John 1:9) That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

(2 Corinthians 3:18) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Sunshine Yellow

Well, good morning! Happy weekend, friends. How gorgeous are these wild flowers?!

Each of these photos are natural (no filter) and I love them all. Leo brought these to me week before last and they’ve lasted for 11+ days!

I followed the same rules shared in previous blog posts but as a reminder:

Change the water daily, cut the stems at an angle about half an inch every three days, and feed the flowers every three days with a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of bleach (or baking soda) to keep the water clean.

Lastly — enjoy! πŸ˜‰

Happy Sunday! πŸ™‚

Blues for the Monday Blues

Good Morning! So I know it’s Monday – but on my blog, folks? It’s perpetually the weekend πŸ™‚ where you can wear light and airy clothing, let your hair down, and sip on a cocktail. Yes πŸ™‚

Photo Jul 26, 6 58 55 AM.jpg

But..for sake of reality: these happy shots were taken at a speakeasy downtown Orlando last week, where my coworker and I chilled after our day-long meeting.

I loved the outfit for its fun and comfortable style and thought I’d share it because the prices were ridiculous! So the shoes were from Francescas, bought years ago. But the top and bottoms were from Pitaya, purchased together from their bogo 70% sale!

Check them out – their clothing is cute and affordable and you won’t be sorry. πŸ™‚

My items above are sold out but I’ve listed some similar styles below that you may like!

Good Morning!

Ah, how good it is to be home. This week’s work trip was a short one though – only two nights – and it was in beautiful Orlando, Florida. We stayed downtown and our client’s massive offices were in the heart of the city.

I opted for comfort when dressing for this meeting because it was going to be eight hours spent in a conference room with a working-lunch. Correct. πŸ™‚

See the bottom of today’s post for outfit details! Can you believe it was under $60 for both the top and bottoms?!

I got my Kate Spade NY laptop bag last year when their sale was over half off. And the top and bottoms are from Nordstrom Rack. I’ve posted the links below.

Summer Concerts

Good Morning πŸ™‚

Last week was a full and fast-paced one in Atlanta – working and training a new team-member by day, and playing with my 3-yr-old niece and 1-yr-old nephew by evening. It was awesome seeing my siblings who lived there as well! πŸ™‚

And this week has continued in kind – with crazy workdays and packed evenings. Yesterday was my sister’s birthday and we went to the One Republic concert at DTE Clarkston. We are huge fans of theirs and belted out their tunes with abandon, ha!

I opted for this cute yellow romper I found at a steal at Dry Goods – only $10. Tip — they told me all their items will eventually get to 75% off so periodically stop in and check their clearance rack for fun new finds!

This pretty little number was light and breezy and I thought it was perfect for a summer evening concert. So comfy and easy to wear. I accessorized with army green tones: my long necklace, layered with aΒ FrancescasΒ choker, army-green shades, and army-green sandals.

But my sister Julianna’s outfit was absolutely stunning and definitely stole the show — sold out at Express. I listed some substitute options for both our styles at the bottom πŸ™‚

Rompin’ ’round Ponce City Market!

Good morning, Monday! Ah, Leo and I had so much fun this weekend with my family here in Atlanta.

One of the fun places we visited was Ponce City Market in the city and I loved it — so many fun stores to see!

Leo picked out this romper for me back home in Ann Arbor and the hot, hot, hot day yesterday offered the perfect opportunity for wear πŸ™‚

I loved the pretty setup, indoors and out.

The lively colors splashed fun throughout — how cute is this pink area? A girl’s dream!

I wanna go back and get a big ol’ cone of ice-cream. But I’m already running a bit late for my workday — I’m actually here in Atlanta on business Monday-Friday and just grateful I got to come early for a fun weekend with family πŸ™‚

Anyway — hope “ya’ll” have a great week πŸ™‚ All smiles down south here in HOTlanta.

When wearing a neutral-toned outfit/shoes, pair a fun and bright pair of earrings and lipstick for a pretty pop of color. πŸ™‚

Red & White

Good Morning! LOVE when a Monday falls on a Wednesday and we’re still only two days away from Friday πŸ˜‰

My [real] Monday night was spent with Leo watching the Gaylord, MI fireworks — Plymouth’s were discontinued this year so we made our way out to Gaylord with a picnic blanket and some snacks and camped out for what was a beautiful show!

I love the way fireworks light up the sky and my favorites are the kind that explode in golden light, before fragments of their glow arch downward like a willow tree.

So much SHINE!

Leo snapped a few awesome shots – my designated photographer :p haha

I hope your Fourth was awesome, friends πŸ™‚

(Outfit Details below)

This embroidered red blouse was a fun top I found at — you guessed it: Francescas! — shop it here

The scallop-hem white shorts are also from Francescas – I took a mirror selfie [hands over face] to capture a shot of the full look for ya to shop (see below). Mine are sold out (didn’t buy them this summer), but a similar style can be found here.

DIA Blue

Hi! Happy Monday — today’s my favorite kind bc it’s a HALF-DAY before a holiday πŸ™‚ I mean how much better can a Monday get?! πŸ™‚

In honor of our beautiful red, white and blue love this weekend, I thought I’d start with the latter of the three – blue! Friday night was a cool and rainy one and Leo and I thought the perfect way to kick off the weekend was with a visit to one of our favorite locales: the grand DIA. How I love our Detroit Institute of Arts. I could spend hours just soaking in their art.

Also: rain is so romantic in my estimation and the DIA, the beginning of a holiday weekend and my man? Recipe for success.

What I dub the DIA’s “red room” is my favorite — I wish they’d install a little reading nook with my name on it so I can go there to spend hours in thought, in reading, or in writing – really in whatever incredible state of mind I’m sure to be in, surrounded by such stunning historical art. LOVE!

So I know that’s a crazy thought! But hey — a girl can dream. πŸ˜‰

Scroll to the bottom for my outfit details (another fun piece under $15! Because I thought I’d stick with the $15 theme of my last few posts, ha!)

Hope you’re enjoying your Independence Day weekend, friends πŸ™‚ Cheers!

Outfit details —

This fun top, perfect for more chilly summer nights, is another Francesca’s steal from their “sale on sale” — still in stock here.

And those gorgeous Marc Fisher shoes? I promise they were under $17 when I purchased them last Autumn on Macy‘s clearance — I shopped them for ya, and while mine are sold out, here are a couple of Marc Fisher sale shoes — this in a shade of blue and this one closer to my style in black!

Happy shopping!
