Summery Yellow

I love peaceful evenings with only family on the calendar…it means home and quiet and serenity. Mom was over the other night and after dinner the three of us went on a little adventure through nearby parks.

Summer Concerts

Good Morning 🙂

Last week was a full and fast-paced one in Atlanta – working and training a new team-member by day, and playing with my 3-yr-old niece and 1-yr-old nephew by evening. It was awesome seeing my siblings who lived there as well! 🙂

And this week has continued in kind – with crazy workdays and packed evenings. Yesterday was my sister’s birthday and we went to the One Republic concert at DTE Clarkston. We are huge fans of theirs and belted out their tunes with abandon, ha!

I opted for this cute yellow romper I found at a steal at Dry Goods – only $10. Tip — they told me all their items will eventually get to 75% off so periodically stop in and check their clearance rack for fun new finds!

This pretty little number was light and breezy and I thought it was perfect for a summer evening concert. So comfy and easy to wear. I accessorized with army green tones: my long necklace, layered with a Francescas choker, army-green shades, and army-green sandals.

But my sister Julianna’s outfit was absolutely stunning and definitely stole the show — sold out at Express. I listed some substitute options for both our styles at the bottom 🙂

Red & White

Good Morning! LOVE when a Monday falls on a Wednesday and we’re still only two days away from Friday 😉

My [real] Monday night was spent with Leo watching the Gaylord, MI fireworks — Plymouth’s were discontinued this year so we made our way out to Gaylord with a picnic blanket and some snacks and camped out for what was a beautiful show!

I love the way fireworks light up the sky and my favorites are the kind that explode in golden light, before fragments of their glow arch downward like a willow tree.

So much SHINE!

Leo snapped a few awesome shots – my designated photographer :p haha

I hope your Fourth was awesome, friends 🙂

(Outfit Details below)

This embroidered red blouse was a fun top I found at — you guessed it: Francescas! — shop it here

The scallop-hem white shorts are also from Francescas – I took a mirror selfie [hands over face] to capture a shot of the full look for ya to shop (see below). Mine are sold out (didn’t buy them this summer), but a similar style can be found here.

Cloudy Greens

Good morning, Friday Junior! Hello hello! 🙂

So, yesterday night, Leo, my sister Julianna, and I went to another Tigers game – boo on so many losses 😦 But it was still an engaging game that we enjoyed!

I love choosing outfits for different occasions and yesterday’s weather forecast didn’t know if it wanted to be gloomily cold, or just cloudy and humid so I thought a loose romper with a long duster sweater would be the way to go!

How pretty is Detroit?! It’s truly making its anticipated comeback and I’m so proud! So many new and exciting restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and more sprouting up all around.

Wore my hair in looser waves…trying to protect it from too much styling lately so just kinda let it be — if you have a really good curling iron, your curls will only drop little by little and can thereby last for days. Reference this post for the tools I use (featured at the bottom) 🙂

So, I bought the romper last summer, but it’s only $15 on sale this summer at Lulu’s – check it out here!

Date Night Fashion!

Good evening! Happy Friday Junior! 🙂

It’s been a heck of a work week for me but it’s been a good one!

I picked up some gorgeous peonies from the Farmer’s Market yesterday which I can’t wait to show you! But for now, I thought I’d share some date night fashion and tips on where to find similar styles.

(Outfit details at the bottom)

For a recent Royal Oak date night at a dueling piano bar, I went with a fun and flirty look that felt like Summertime:

Pair dressy shorts with neutral heels and a flirty top for a nighttime feel. I kept my hair down and sleek to add to the nighttime vibe.

Also, can we talk about how perfectly fresh and pretty this summertime cocktail is?!

And for a dressed up Ann Arbor date night, I went with this simple treasure I found on Anthropologie’s clearance rack – one of the best places you may visit 😉

I thought the blue was bold and bright while the cut and the delicate gold straps gave the dress a romantic flow… Also, how pretty are these lights ^^.

Happy shopping, friends:

The blue dress is an Anthro find which is currently sold out but you may be able to find one at your local store!

The white shorts are from Francescas: click here

The lace up shoes are from Lulu’s: similar style here

The one shoulder top paired with the white shorts is years old but click here for another fun style

Blushes and Creams

Good morning, Friends!

Hope you had a fantastic Sunday — I met up with my friend Tiff after church for some much appreciated flowery fun 🙂 How gorgeous are these flowered trees, downtown A2?! (That’s Ann Arbor for those of you who don’t know)

Flowers bring me so much peace. I love immersing myself in them. The colors of nature prove to me our Creator is definitely fashionable 🙂 I love His style 😉

Today, I have a springy blush and cream outfit to share with you. Scroll to the bottom for fashion details. 🙂

Yesterday still packed some chill in the air so I brought along a light duster jacket to ward off some of the cool air wafting through the openings in my sweater.

A Lazy Kinda Lovely

What do you wear when it’s Spring and you’re attending an evening concert on a mid-week night? Outcry was the destination of choice for myself and my sisters Tuesday night and I wanted something understated but lovely. Queue these comfy light pink jeans paired with this breezy sleeveless sweater…and of course, this jean jacket staple in my closet, because: Anthro! If you ask me, an Anthropologie piece of clothing takes any outfit to another level of lovely.

I abide by the theory of using just one or two statement pieces with a simple outfit to capture a look that reflects “effortlessly-lovely”. Mix basic colors with a “louder” one like my jeans, to express a classy style with a splash of pizazz. 🙂

How cool is this alley?! It’s Liberty Street’s own little claim to fame, tucked deep within the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, near State Street, where you’ll find the Michigan theater. It serves as a hot-spot for local musicians and touristy out-of-towners. Quotes and graffiti ranging from silly and simple to beautiful and poignant decorate the walls.

Rose gold makes everything better

I know the typical pairing for b&w outfits would be silver jewelry; but it’s me, so: rose gold, of course. It just always makes everything better! Scroll through for the details on yesterday’s “Sunday Best”.
